The Border Collie Club of Queensland Inc. is affiliated with the Canine Control Council of Queensland. This is a non-profit organisation that aims to promote the pedigree Border Collie throughout the state of Queensland. Breed issues such as health problems, the breed standard and conformation showing are the major focus of this club. However many of our members participate in performance events such as Obedience, Agility, Herding and Jumping. These achievements are recognised and awarded by our club. BCCQ currently runs 3 conformation shows and 1 herding trial a year. We regularly participate in Pet Expos to educate the public about the breed and its specific requirements. We provide up to date information to our members regarding any health issues that may arise and encourage breeders to test, where possible, for any health problems. Fundraising is currently being carried out to help with DNA research at the Universityof NSW. Monthly general meetings are held on the first Tuesday of the month or a date agreed upon at the previous meeting. If you are thinking of purchasing a puppy or already own a BC and would like some more information regarding health or club activities please feel free to browse this site.
